Hockney – Van Gogh: The Joy of Nature
David Hockney’s colourful and colossal Yorkshire landscape paintings are currently on display in the Van Gogh Museum in the Netherlands. This blockbuster exhibition demonstrates the influence Van Gogh had on Hockney, featuring paintings by both artists. One of the highlights is ‘The Arrival of Spring in Woodgate, East Yorkshire’ (2011), which consists of 32 panels and measures nearly 10 metres long. Sketchbooks, videos, photographic drawings and iPad drawings are also on display. A must see exhibition if you are in Amsterdam!
