Yale University Press — Still Life Before Still Life
Identity Illustration Print
For the release of the English edition, Yale University Press asked us to look at redesigning the existing Italian version.
The book explores the origins of Still Life as a genre, from there being a still life element in the background of a painting, to it becoming the subject matter itself. Each painting is shown in it’s entirety for context, with a detail on the facing page showing the still life element. The book is divided into chapters such as fruit, flowers etc. using a detail and black title page to break up the content.
